the Spirited Book Club welcomes author Larry Gordon to discuss his book, ‘The Seventh Sunrise’
“The Seventh Sunrise: A Time to Hear God’s Whisper” from Christian Faith Publishing author Larry Gordon is an inspiring collection of personal stories that bring readers a message of peace and understanding through God.
BOOK OVERVIEW
Larry Gordon provides thought-provoking tales about life, love, joy, grief, compassion, and kindness. He writes with intrigue and humor. His stories take you from a sacrificial mayfly, surfing an eddy in the waters of a trout stream, to a pantheon ballroom in the cosmos where Jupiter and Saturn dance cheek to cheek. From two matches burning bright in the chilly night sky of the Los Angeles Coliseum to the twin peaks of Granite Mountain in Arizona and Mount Sinai halfway around the world.
Each story is anchored with God’s whisper–his word engraved in love. Each chapter begins with a new day. And with each dawn begins another moment of truth–a time for joy, a time for sorrow, but most of all, a time to care!
The Seventh Sunrise is chock-full of wisdom hidden in the most obscure of places. And within each concealed spot is a sanctuary cloaked with God’s fingerprints.
Larry Gordon’s The Seventh Sunrise: A Time to Hear God’s Whisper is a thoughtful memoir that explores the beauty of a faith-driven life.

Reviews
“The Seventh Sunrise by Larry Gordon is a great read. Perhaps read(s), more accurate. This book of nearly 40 short stories that pertain to Larry’s life are all interesting, kept my attention, and each one spurred me on to read the next. These accounts, sprinkled with famous sayings and/or poems and proverbs, peaked my interest, as did the pertinent applicable biblical verses/truths. All this, and it is captured around one of my favorite places, Prescott AZ, made for an edifying and pleasant read.” —Donald H. (Barnes & Noble)
“After reading the first couple of stories, I immediately purchased two more books for friends who I knew would enjoy this book. The stories take me back to my youth, growing up. I can relate to the stories. The author’s descriptions of events painted beautiful pictures in my mind. This book is not limited to Christian reading only as stories and quotations were referenced to many people of different faiths and beliefs. It’s a beautiful read and great gift for that special person in your life.” –Kindle customer (Amazon)
“I truly enjoyed reading The Seventh Sunrise by Larry Gordon. His style of writing has a spirit in the blend of Mitch Albom and Robert Fulghum. I found myself moved to tears with some stories and amused and inspired with others. I totally recommend this book!” —Tigers#13 (Barnes & Noble)

About the author

Larry Gordon was born in Hollywood, California. As a child, he was always intrigued by dawn’s early light. He remembers watching the sun’s first rays come up over the Mulholland Hills on Easter morning to the herald of trumpets and angelic choir voices in the Hollywood Bowl.
His curiosity about how magnificent the sunrise must have been on the day God rested led to his book, The Seventh Sunrise.
After a successful business career in the relocation industry, he lives his days in the highlands of Arizona. His hobbies include hiking, fly-fishing, reading, and writing.
He is a grateful father of three, grandfather of eleven, and great-grandfather of seven.
His faith has led him in several endeavors: Sunday school and confirmation teacher, facilitator in a center for grieving children, member of Survivors of Suicide, a big brother, and hospital chaplain.
