Ephesians 2:6-10 … “For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life.” vs. 10

God hasn’t given us all of these amazing gifts of grace as an exercise in generosity; but—because God is madly in love with us, and there’s a method to God’s madness. In Christ Jesus, specifically in his resurrection, there’s been a new creation in which we were programmed by the Holy Spirit to produce good works. God has made us exactly the way we’re supposed to be and our software program has been designed to bring love into the lives of people who need it the most. We are who we are and where we are for a purpose and God doesn’t make junk. We are precious in every way. We can’t even use the excuse that we are sinners because all that’s been taken care of in Christ. Oh, that doesn’t mean that we won’t make excuses! We’re full of them, and sadly we even ignore the mission field that God has put in front of us. There are hurting people out there who can be reached only by us, and if we allow our excuses to distract us from mission those people are going to go unloved. They’ll wonder why God doesn’t care about them and never know that we’re the ones who have dropped the ball. We used excuses to keep from living the way of life God had prepared for us. What a pity!

Thought for the Day: What does God intend to be my way of life?
