Paul and Louise Evenson
Louise and Paul Evenson of Thousand Oaks, California, became enthusiastic and generous supporters of Spirit in the Desert in 2008 when they met the Executive Director, Paul Campbell. At the time, Paul and Louise had a second home in Scottsdale, maintaining their connections with the Phoenix area where Paul, a graduate of Luther Seminary in St Paul, had served as a pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Louise, with a Ph.D. from Arizona State University also taught at ASU.
In California, Louise taught at California Lutheran University, served as Assoc. Dean of Graduate Studies and, later in her career, as a member of the Board of Regents. Her career redirected into financial services where she served first as a General Agent for Lutheran Brotherhood (now Thrivent Financial) followed by the position of Group Vice President for American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise). She is currently giving generously of her time and skills as a member of the Board of Directors of Lutheran World Relief.
After serving two Lutheran congregations in the Southwest, Paul’s leadership included Executive Director of the Lutheran Bible Camp Association in Southern California; a charitable estate planning agent for Lutheran Brotherhood; Vice President of Development for Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California; Planned Giving officer for Concordia College, Minnesota, and currently is Gift Officer for California Lutheran University.
When Paul met with Paul Campbell in 2008, he was asked to serve on the Board of Directors of Spirit in the Desert. A year after completing his first term, he was asked to again be a member of the Board. You can read more about Paul in the Leadership section of this website.
The Evensons are one of many Shareholder couples and individuals who Spirit in the Desert can count on for continued support.
